Abstract

Woman with the White Moustache
Sherri Torjman, September 2009

This is a brief personal story about an eye-opening lesson: the unsettling reaction that most people had to a simple post-surgery lip bandage.  It raises questions about the treatment of persons with disabilities who must tolerate on a daily basis the constant negative response to their ‘difference.’
