Abstract

Hamilton's McQuesten Neighbourhood: What a Difference 90 Days Can Make
Anne Makhoul, October 2008

This story describes a community-based initiative designed by members and groups affiliated with the Hamilton Roundtable for Poverty Reduction, a Vibrant Communities convener organization.

Residents belonging to the McQuesten Community Planning Team and members of Hamilton’s Affordable Housing Flagship used a 90-day planning process to effect small-  and large-scale community change.  The success of the undertaking led to the development of further 90-day plans, thanks in large part to the efforts of a capable resident planning body and an effective, people-oriented Director of Housing.
