Abstract

Fair Fares 2008: Roadblocks and Opportunities
Anne Makhoul, January 2008

Since 2006, low-income Calgary residents have been able to apply for Universal Low Income Transit passes.  Ongoing effort by the Fair Fares action team was responsible for the creation of the passes, but sustained funding for the program remains uncertain.  The action team will continue to collaborate with the provincial government to help find sustainable ways of meeting the transportation needs of both rural and urban residents living on low incomes.
